Alton Ingram MD

Dr. Alton Ingram, MD, JD, MBA, FAACS is a board-certified cosmetic and facial cosmetic surgeon with over 30 years of experience in plastic surgery. He trained extensively in world-renowned programs, completing his plastic surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center (America’s top Plastic Surgery residency program at the time).
After completing his plastic surgery training, Dr. Ingram undertook advanced international fellowships at the Centro de Estudos Ivo Pitanguy in Rio de Janeiro, the University of Paris with Professor Paul Tessier, and the Clinica Alemana in Santiago de Chile, as well as two fellowships in the United States (Baptist Hospital in Nashville, and Mount Sinai Medical Center).
Dr. Ingram is the only plastic surgeon in Tennessee who is also board-certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He is a former Trustee of the Board of Cosmetic Surgery and a current trustee of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
A recognized leader in patient safety, he co-founded the Cosmetic Surgery Patient Safety Initiative and the BBL Safety Committee, chairs multiple safety and ethics committees, and serves as Breast and Patient Safety Section Editors for the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Ingram attended the 2024 meeting of the American Medical Association as a representative of the specialty of cosmetic surgery.
He is a sought-after educator, having delivered numerous national and international lectures on patient safety, surgical techniques, and regulatory compliance, including the keynote address at the Dubai International Conference on Surgery and Anesthesia (2023), as well as delivering more than fifteen lectures and courses at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery’s annual meetings in 2022-2025.
In 2025, Dr. Ingram was honored as Visiting Professor of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, presenting to faculty and residents at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery and Texas Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Ingram’s contributions to safety standards, regulatory policy, and academic literature have positioned him as a leading voice in advancing best practices in cosmetic surgery worldwide.
Ingram Cosmetic Surgery offers only surgical treatments for its patients, operating out of an AAAHC-accredited surgery center adjacent to Dr. Ingram’s consultation and follow-up office in the Donelson area of Nashville. By limiting the procedures offered only to those in which he has decades of experience, Dr. Ingram focuses only on the procedures with the most transformative results and the highest patient satisfaction.
Since opening his practice in 2021, Dr. Ingram has ranked number one in Nashville for Breast Augmentation, Abdominoplasty, Mommy Makeover, as well as the top Plastic Surgeon.
